Nanomerics returned as an industry partner to the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Broadening Horizons in the Chemical Sciences programme for the fifth consecutive year, reaffirming the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion across the chemical sciences.
Two days of engagement with the 2026/27 cohort
Representing Nanomerics at the event were Dr Asya Petkova (Director, Clinical Trial Projects) and Dr Ilona Kubajewska (Director of Preclinical R&D), who met 114 students from the 2026/27 cohort across two days of speed networking and one-to-one sessions on Thursday and Friday. As in previous years, the cohort showed strong interest in Nanomerics’ science and in the career paths open to chemists in a clinical-stage drug-delivery company.
A voluntary work experience opportunity
Among the conversations, the company’s voluntary work experience opportunity drew particular interest. It was highlighted in Nanomerics’ presentation, in the company flyer, and in further discussions throughout the event — giving students an early route to hands-on experience in pharmaceutical R&D.
Broadening Horizons connects employers with students from backgrounds under-represented in the chemical sciences, and Nanomerics’ continued partnership reflects its long-standing support for widening access to the profession.
